How to Play High School Popular Girls

The game is, in essence, a series of scenes played out based on a series of questions. In each one, a character speaks to you, and you choose how to respond from two or three options. Your main line appears in a dark bubble at the bottom of the screen, and the choices below it complete the sentence. Every answer you pick decides your next move in the story.

At the top of the screen, you'll see the scene number, the setting (like Home, School Day, or Camping), and a row of progress pips. Each correct choice progresses you to the next scene. Fill them all, and you pass the scene.

When you pass a scene, you will see a green PASSED! banner with two buttons: Continue to move forward in the story, or Play Again to replay it. When you pick the wrong answer, you get a pink FAILED! screen with a countdown. You can hit Rewind (usually by watching an ad) to undo your last choice and keep going, or tap "No, thanks" to restart the scene.

Some choices appear highlighted in purple with a star. These are special answers that unlock bonus story paths, usually by watching a short video.

The story and the right answers

Home Scene.

Your dad announces the family is moving to another city next week. Take it in stride: you'll "need to make new friends!" Burning the place down is not the answer.

School Day Scene.

Your first day at the new school starts rough. A group of girls warns you not to cause any trouble. Stand your ground with "I am not scared of you!" Then a guy approaches and asks you out. Play it smart: say yes, but only if he shows you where the class is.

Hallway Scene.

The girls spot you with him and demand to know if you're together. Keep them guessing with "we will see!"

The Party Scene.

Later in the story, you get to throw a party. You'll invite people yourself, pick your outfit (the tank top and jean shorts look, skirt?), greet your guests, and handle party problems like running out of bottles, and other more heartbreaking problems like seeing your boyfriend inappropriately behaving with an unwanted guest.

How will you handle the situation? Some may choose a slap in the face, which leads to a bit of a revenge outing later in the game, where you toilet paper your ex-boyfriend’s house!

Camping Scene.

You and a friend head out on a road trip, and your guy asks to stop because he has to pee. Let him go, but when he doesn't come back, things get serious. Search for him, and when a bear blocks the trail, pretend to be dead. When there's still no sign of him, call the police.

Rescue Scene.

Back at school, everyone is sad and looking to you for a plan. You know a genius guy. The premium purple choice here is to have him clone the missing guy, or you can ask him to build a time machine.

Convince Scene.

The genius wants something in return. Promise to find him a girlfriend.

Solution Scene.

The machine is ready, and you need to pick a date to travel. Return 2 days before, back to the day of the trip.

Time Machine Scene.

You can relive the road trip knowing what's coming. This time, when he says he needs to stop and pee, go with him: "Sure, but I come with you!" When he falls into the ravine and calls for help, call for help yourself. Save his life, and he asks you out on the spot.

Tips

• Think in terms of what a popular teenager would answer - a bit of sass goes a long way. The winning choice is usually confident, but be careful about being reckless.
• Look out for the choices highlighted in purple. Starred answers open up extra story content you may not see otherwise.
